Just as many horror movie monsters throughout history are a representation of the fears of the time period from which they hail, The Demogorgon seems to be a manifestation of American paranoia about communism and Russian infiltration in the US. There's also an interesting link between the Demogorgon and Eleven. They may connected; two sides of the same coin; that the Demogorgon is actually the Upside-Down version of Eleven. I'll be going over all the evidence I could find to support this theory. The Demogorgon is a tall humanoid creature that dwells in the parallel dimension known as the "Upside-Down". The creature seems to be a culmination of functions drawn from the creatures of our world, so I'll also analyze the similarities to an array of real world animals. In this episode of Horror History, I'll be covering the entire known history of the original creature from The Upside-Down: The Demogorgon. This episode will focus on the Demogorgon from Season 1 of Stranger Things, who is also part of the species referred to as the Demogorgons. In future videos, I'll cover other notable members of this species. This video will break down the earliest chronological reference to The Demogorgon, it's connection to Project MK-Ultra, it's astral encounters with Eleven, the opening of the gate to the Upside-Down, the victims it devoured in 1983, the scenes with Will Byers, only seen in the Stranger Things comic book series, and the final battle with Eleven.
